The National Rosie The Riveter Association Annual Convention

Reuniting with Veterans after 72 Years

DEARBORN, Mich. (June 14, 2013) — Members of the AMERICAN ROSIE THE RIVETER ASSOCIATION and Michigan WWII veterans joined forces once again at the association’s national convention. Dearborn was a fitting location given that so many Rosies worked at retooled automotive plants to produce jeeps, tanks and airplanes during the war.

The event featured the unveiling of a clay model of the Rosie the Riveter statue which will be featured at The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial. The highlights of the reunion were an inspiring real life recreation of the statue scenes planned for the memorial using actual veterans and Rosies and a photo shoot of them all giving the “V for Victory” salute.
