Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society Paver Preview

First Steps in the Walk of Honor

EASTPOINTE, Mich. (Mar. 6, 2013) — The MICHIGAN MILITARY TECHNICAL & HISTORICAL SOCIETY (MMT&HS) hosted the opening of its temporary display of bricks purchased by supporters of The Michigan World War II Legacy Memorial. The museum agreed to display these bricks until they can be placed at the memorial itself. Over 250 people attended this brick paver preview party. Eventually these bricks will grace the entrance to the memorial as part of the “Walk of Honor.”

No one was prepared for the outpouring of emotions as veterans and their families saw the first tangible elements of the memorial. For these visitors, the bricks were personal pieces of history to be held, photographed and revered for the stories they will forever tell in their permanent home at The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial.
